World Bank and Taita Taveta County project reaches grassroots entrepreneurs
Over 400 small business owners at the grassroots level are set to reap the full benefits of the KES 50 million Mwatate Modern Market, as the capital project has been officially opened by H.E. Governor Granton Samboja.
“ The strategic venture done jointly by the Government of Taita Taveta, World Bank and executed by Mwatate Municipality is solution-driven, set to boost livelihoods of the traders, noting that the COVID-19 pandemic caused economic disruption,” Governor told his crowd at Mwatate Sub-County.
The County Boss expressed that the initiative targets small business owners at the village level, provides a favourable business environment in the community, will attract investors and ultimately expand Mwatate as a commercial hub.
“ The initiative that is furnished with 99 stalls and 144 open-air spaces gives the area a new look,” Governor concluded.
