The 6th Jumuiya Agribusiness and Blue Economy Conference (JABEIC) has successfully kicked off in Taita Taveta with H.E. Dr. Andrew Mwadime presenting a powerful and compelling missive to investors to continue flocking to the county, assuring them that their investments would yield exceptional returns.

“Through deepened camaraderie and partnerships with donors, my administration will demonstrate our shared vision of long-term growth, thereby impacting communities,“ Governor Mwadime remarked during the opening session.

The host governor reiterated commitment to economic empowerment and the numerous opportunities that await those willing to invest in this dynamic region.

“Investing in Taita Taveta remains an invaluable opportunity to innovate, empower communities, and leave a lasting impact for generations ahead. Having curated an impressive portfolio of bankable projects that showcase Taita Taveta’s potential, including agribusiness ventures, renewable energy solutions, mineral processing opportunities, and tourism infrastructure, the county stands a chance to be an attractive investment hub,” the county boss added.

This was reiterated by his counterparts from Kilifi, H.E. Gideon Mung’aro; Tana River’s H.E. Dhadho Godana; and deputies H.E. Christine Kilalo from Taita Taveta County and H.E. Flora Chibule from Kilifi.

Apart from breaking down the investment catalogues their respective counties possessed, they took time to hail the treasures housed by Taita Taveta County that include breathtaking geographical views and natural resources.

The 3-day conference is being held at the Taita Taveta National Polytechnic (formerly CIT), under the theme “Partnerships to unlock green and blue economy investments,” sets to boost and attract investments as well as coordinate 6 coastal counties for sustainable economic development.

Previous JABEIC conferences have been held in Mombasa (2018, 2023), Kilifi (2019), Kwale (2021), and Tana River (2022).
