County embraces Artificial Insemination and breeding Technology.

Famers in Taita Taveta County are set to benefit from Artificial Insemination Technology following a collaboration between the County Government and Agricultural Sector Development Support Program II (ASDSP II), Kenya Animal Generic Resources Centre (KAGRC) and Kenya Veterinary Board (KVB) that has seen more than 20 AI service providers undergo a refresher training workshop on Artificial Insemination and breeding Technology.


Speaking at Coast Institute of Technology, Voi, the County Chief Officer in charge of Livestock and Fisheries Mr. Amos Mwasi said the flagship project which was officially launched in 2018 has seen more than 7,000 Insemination conducted and that the training will not only improve the service delivery but will also assist to curb challenges which include repeats.




The County Government is also being supported by the Kenya Climate Smart Agricultural Project to increase the equipment therefore increase access to subsidized AI services in more wards.


The training is also set to improve the skills of the AI service providers so as to increase the efficiency and coverage of delivery of AI services.
