County and donor partner USAID-STAWI officials monitor Talio Borehole Project

County government officials in the Department of Water, Sanitation, Environment, Climate Change, and Natural Resources, together with a delegation from USAID-STAWI, have jointly conducted yet another site visit in Sagalla Ward to check on the progress of the Talio Borehole rehabilitation project.
The entire team led by the County Chief Officer (CCO) in charge of Water and Sanitation, Reuben Kitololo, advocated for exceptional workmanship to ensure the initiative impacts 2,700 individuals as planned.
“H.E. Governor Andrew Mwadime’s goal is clear on achieving universal water coverage, and I urge the contractor to complete the scopes of work on time. A well-done project would mean that more citizens will have to walk less to access this precious commodity,” the CCO added.
USAID-STAWI is funding the rehabilitation of the water initiative by constructing a modern water distribution system featuring enhanced storage, pipeline extensions, and solar-powered pumping to ensure more consistent and cost-effective water access.
This rural project is set to increase the sustainability of water service delivery as well as better the quality of life and reduce the time spent fetching water, especially by women and children, freeing up time for education and economic activities.
