World Vision has officially handed over the Youth Friendly Center in Taveta hospital to the County government. The structure renovated by the European Union through World Vision will host a youth empowerment center for youth groups in Taveta sub county.
The youth are already running an ICT center where they are offering computer training course and computer services.
Addressing the youth who witnessed the handing over, Governor John Mruttu challenged community health volunteers to build trust with the youth to enable them confide in them.
He also advised the youth to seek DATU Sawazisha funds provided by the County government and learn on how to manage their business unit effectively from Biashara Center officials who can visit the group upon request.
"I challenge you to hold each other accountable to avoid misappropriation of funds for sustainability of this project,"said Mruttu.
Manager World Vision Taita Taveta Basil Mwakulomba commended the commitment of the County government in fostering partnership with NGOs to empower youth and the community as a whole.
