County residents from Kajire village of Sagalla ward will no longer hold meetings and social functions at Mbuyuni. This is after Governor John Mruttu launched Kajire social Hall that was fully funded by the County government.
The ksh 3.6 million project was started in June-September and took Mliwa contractors 16 weeks to complete.
Speaking after launching the hall, Eng. John Mruttu urged residents to utilize the facility productively.
"Through sound management, this social hall can run effectively. I urge residents to appoint a committee that must include women and the youth," said Mruttu.
Area MCA Hon. Godwin Kilele noted that the project has been of great help to the residents as it offered locals jobs. He added that meetings agenda will no longer be interrupted by poor weather conditions.
The county government and the national government will partner to build Kajire police station to improve security in the region.
Some of the remarkable projects in the ward by the county government are the construction of 14 ECD centres, Kizumanzi Stadium, Sagalla Juu road, a generator installed at Sagalla health center, Talo Nyika, Kirumbi and Wongonyi halls.
First Lady Hope Mruttu, CEC Trade and Community affairs Flora Mtuweta, Eng. Elijah Mwandoe among other national and county government officials were in attendance.
